Building of the Week - Medieval Town House

Another yet to be released building by Leven Miniatures and it's a conversion of an existing building. Mike has replaced the tiles with a thatched roof, and in doing so changed the look of the building and allowing the Medieval and Pike and Shote wargamer yet another option within his ranges.

If you wanted to turn it into a more modern version you could add a little green stuff to make a decorative section at the peak of the thatch. As a stand alone building i.e. as it is it's a great addition and obviously makes it a good choice for more rural settings.

This one was handed over to Mike at Joy of Six but I have another that I will have to paint up at some point. This I am sure to do as it's perfect for my ECW army and will get plenty of use.

As usual Mike has mixed it up with material finishes, the stone lower level walls and timber and plaster upper level before it adds the fire risk of all fore risks, the thatch.

One it is available I will have to get myself a few more, why not they are quick to paint and easy to make look good, what more could I ask for?

  2. I like how the different parts of the house look like different textures, too.

  3. Love the Leven range of buildings (as I'm sure you know). Always interesting, varied and very good quality. Top marks on the painting.
