WIP I Need Bases!!!!!!

Well with nothing actually finished that I can post I thought I had best let you know what is happening at the moment. I have quite a few 28mm WWII figures almost finished. Just AP or other wash to apply, then base them up and off to Curt for scoring for the Painting Challenge. The only issue is basing will have to wait for a week Saturday when they will be picked up at the York show. It's a little frustrating having so many figures this close to being finished but unable to get the last stage done.

I actually have more done than the ones shown, these are the ones I have done in the last few days. A mix of Japanese, German and a few Russian. All Sniper Reminder pieces so I need the Warbases Casualty markers which have been ordered.

So I got these out so I can do something in a different scale. Know what I am talking about? Well here is a clue, the figures are not me but a mate.

Here you go, they are of course Matt's WSS, not all of them but six regiments of foot or to put it another way 288 figures. These will be added to the two regiments already painted leaving just three more foot regiments to do. I am doing this group first as they have either white or grey coats and I am pleased to report that all six regiments now have their coats painted (except the drummers). I also have prepped but waiting till these have been painted five French Hussar regiments on sticks and a good number of French commanders. I hope to get those started before the weekend so I need to get a crack on with Matt's figures. Of course when I start my cavalry I will also be making a start on Matt's. My plan to get all Matt's figures done in a three month period looks to be well on track.

Crushed!!!

What a week! I had two games planned, the first fell through as a basing project was set to take way to long whilst the second was provisional on Andy having the time. Shame then that was the best part of the week. Been more than a little bit of a train wreck to be honest. First up my Doc handed over a sick note for 6 months and a diagnosis that I also have M.E., yep Yuppie Flu, I don't even own a car!!!! This means the likely hood of getting back into work anytime soon is errr , well it ain't happening! Explains why I am not getting better though as I need to change a fair few lifestyle things around and work against what I have been doing to get over the original condition, Brill! If that was not bad enough she also handed over new tablets to switch off the part of the brain that takes the signals from the nerves to help me start to sleep for over 2-3 hours at a time. Sounds good(and it is) but try walking when you can hardly feel your legs! Massive side effects and they spill over in to the day a little as I found out when I pitched over on my face in the kids school playground (honest I'm not drunk!!) Well at least it can't get worse, can it? (Marie don't read further!!!!) I have a new nurse to take my once fortnightly pint of blood, well she has done this stuff in Chemo loads but my procedure is slightly different and she was a bit flummoxed, first she forgot to check my blood results and take my blood pressure but then accidentally left the tap on too long and drew about 1 1/4 pints. So much that she had to clean excess blood off the floor LOL. Totally fazed she then took my forgotten blood pressure, yep you guessed it, from the arm she had taken the blood. Re-bleed time and boy did she blush. All said it was not a good visit and obviously I was rather wan after.

The one good thing is that I have managed to get plenty done on my Phalanx with just the varnishing and basing ahead of me. So it's not all bad and at the moment it seems that the only thing I can really concentrate on is painting so again I ask, can I get my figures on the NHS?

WIP Post Challange

As I have mentioned a few times, despite throwing a lot of effort at the challenge in the final stages I still have the urge to paint. Unlike the Machine that goes by the name of Ray I had cleared the table of all ongoing figures just in time for the end of the contest. No 500+ points sitting waiting a last lick of paint and basing no Sir! Instead I cleared the table of all bits and bobs, gave it a good clean and just left it clear for a couple of days.
Last night saw me finish the basic work on four American riflemen, these now need decals fitting, varnishing and basing on the casualty markers. This was a bit of a rush as a friend wanted one set figure so on Monday I went out and bought the pack it was in. Top right is the first 4 regiments of 6mm French Napoleonic, still plenty of work on these guys. Facings, cords, shako plates and pom poms for the main part then it's base them up time.
All cleaned up and ready to go is a few Australian test figures surrounded by about 12 Japanese which are the next figures to get done. The big question though is what am I going to do whilst I am at these? I think I will paint up a ECW regiment I have lying around before Triples in May but before doing that I am fairly sure I will do more of the Ancients, only which one? I also want to start the 20mm project but need to commit to a set army, I think I have decided as it will allow me to use the Roman Auxillia I have already painted. Again it's a case of when. I need to sit down, work out what I need, look at the other projects and see what I need for these and then prioritise.
