Artizan WWII Partizan

Remember how I talked about doing something a little different over the weekend? Well turns out I was unable to do so due to my Super Glue becoming Super Gone so instead of doing the planned painting I well back on something I originally prepped for the last Painting Challenge before the challenge started. So it was about time I had a go, obviously this one counts as a test miniature.

Not so obvious from this shot, but it's another of my Sniper Reminders and I have purposely painted him up so as to possibly be Russian or French. Given the look he was throwing Cath when she took the shots I think he is French  ;-)

He is carrying a Maschinenpistole 40 or MP40 if you like. The figure is by Artizan and is part of the SWW700 Maquis I Pack at £5 a pack of three figures. I have been playing with the flocking powder I bought from The Works a couple of weeks ago. In this case the yellow powder.

You just got to love that moustache and if I was a German soldier I think I would instantly suspect him as being in the resistance.

I really enjoyed going up a few scales for a change and you can expect more of the same as well as that other itch that requires scratching now I have two bottles of good old Loctite Precision.

  1. Nice work! I keep eyeing the resistance myself for Bolt Action when the allied book rolls out.

  3. I like all the shots but the first and last are my favorite.

PS: No, the movie wasn't THAT scary, and kind of not all that together. Six Souls, I think is what we finished watching.

  5. That's a nice paint job. The finished figures looks a lot more inspiring than the casting. Just shows how wrong you can be.

  9. Tache-tastic (sorry) looking figure. Good figure enhanced with skillful painting. I'm now tempted to add a few of those to my own Bolt Action band.

  10. @ Styx, The figures have bags of character as they are not so uniform as the normal WWII figures. Of course this tends to mean you can't get away with having to many of the same figures.

@ Ray, and it's not Movember yet ;-)

@ Spooky, I like the last one most, Cath did an excellent job for me. It's bad when your not sure of the name of the movie you went to see

@ Captain LOL, thanks, it was a nice change of pace

@ PanzerKaput, very French indeed, got to love a man with face fuzz (well excepting my wife she hates me with it)

@ Gary, some times the casting can shout buy me, but often it needs some paint, can't understand suppliers not having painted images on their websites

@ Curt, I like the Artizan figures even though they often are not dynamic, I have to say all the civilian warriors are rather fetching

@ Dave, indeed, I just think he is a bit miffed I did not do his shirt black and white stripped and missed off the onions, oh well

@ Chris, that's Artizan for you, easier to add a bit of detail when it's more than 4 times the size of the usual victims

@ Matt, so you should be LOL, thanks for the compliment but he kind of painted himself. I do tend to worry that painting mostly 6mm for the last six months may have taken me off the boil but I was pleased with the results

  11. Ian, that's a cracking paint job. You've really captured that quintessentially French look. you've turned a cracking sculpt into something stunning. Love how you've captured the "hooded eye" look.

  12. @ Legion, Thanks but maybe you give me to much credit for a few happy accidents ;-)
